Developing applications on DHIS2

DHIS2 is a large health information system with many features. You don't need to understand everything about DHIS2, but you will need to learn the essentials in order to build an application for your group project. The topics we cover on the website will be supplementary to the DHIS2 documentation, developer portal and other resources DHIS2 provide.

What are DHIS2 applications?

DHIS2 apps communicate with a DHIS2 server through its API and can access functionality and read, modify and write data to a DHIS2 instance.

A default instance of DHIS2 comes bundled with several different applications. Some of these applications are developed and maintained by the core DHIS2 team, while others are developed and maintained by third-party developers and can be downloaded through the DHIS2 App Hub.
